SARTs: Search And Rescue Transponders

SARTs (search and rescue transponders) are vital to your safety at sea. Designed to locate and assist ships, life rafts and survival crafts in distress situations, SARTs are small waterproof transponders able to transmit as well as receive radio signals.
When activated, SARTs transmit a series of homing signals, giving the exact location of the vessel in distress on the radar X-band display. These signals can then be seen on nearby ship and aircraft radar screens.
